  • We understand the difficulties involved with bringing the elderly to the surgery for an examination and hygiene maintenance. After caring for many elderly patients, nervous or agoraphobic individuals, we appreciate that family members go through a lot of pressure to try and do what is right for their parents, grandparents, or other family members.

We are experienced in dealing with special needs and geriatric dentistry, and so we offer our services to come to nursing homes / hospitals to provide dental work that can be done out of our surgeries. If more extensive or complicated work is required, we will advise family members. We can also arrange for a private ambulance to bring you to our practice if you prefer.

    Domiciliary treatments are available:

    - Dental check-up with state-of-the-art X-ray equipment.

    - Dental emergency service and urgent toothache treatment.

    - Teeth cleaning (removal of tartar and teeth polishing) with specially selected rotary instruments for mobile dentistry.

     - Denture fracture repairs, tooth or clasp additions, cleaning, denture relining and other alterations

     - New Dentures. We provide full or partial dentures (full acrylic or cobalt-chrome types). We can also provide additional services like cutting-edge mouth scanning devices, which eliminate the need for dental impressions when making a new denture or repairing an old denture. This is a great solution for gagging patients, Alzheimer's patients with poor cooperation, or patients who are frail.

    - Extractions.

    - Tooth fillings.

    - Crown and bridge re-cementation.

    - Teeth whitening.

    - Prescriptions for dental abscesses, gum infections, oral thrush infections, and pain killers.

    - Ambulance transport service to our state-of-the-art dental practice (if necessary).

Treatment goals for the elderly or disabled are different from those for those who are young, and care must be modified accordingly. Minimal intervention and self-preservation are keys to providing effective dental treatment for those who cannot look after themselves.

    Frequently Asked Questions:

How much does a domiciliary dentist cost?
The initial visit will need to be an assessment or examination. It involves a call-out fee, which covers the time spent travelling to the given address, and an examination fee. Following the first visit, a cost estimate can be generated and sent to the patient. The call-out fee is applied every time the mobile dentist visits your home.

How much do the first examination visits for a mobile dentist service cost?

If you are located in the Surrey and Sussex areas, there is a fee for the examination plus our call-out fee. However, if you live outside of the Surrey and Sussex postcode areas, you need to call our receptionist on 01903-821822 to get a call-out fee quote. The quote is based on the distance and time it takes to travel to your address.

  • Can the dentist do the treatment on the first visit?

No, because we will not have all the necessary instruments, materials, and equipment with us. After the initial visit, we determine precisely what is needed for the subsequent visit.

What areas and postcodes does your domiciliary dental service cover?

We cover mainly Surrey, West Sussex, and East Sussex. In exceptional cases, we might consider visiting patients outside these areas. Please check your postcode online; if it is included in Surrey or Sussex, then our domiciliary dental service will cover your area.

Does your mobile dentist visit patients at hospitals?

Yes, our mobile dental services cover hospitals, hospices, care homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, convalescent homes, sheltered housing, rest homes, and private resident addresses.

What services do you provide for care homes?

We provide group care home residents with examinations. Group examinations can be for either 5, 10, 20 or more residents in one visit. We allocate a half or full day for these sessions. The care home group examination fee is determined by the travelling distance and the number of residents who require examinations.

Do you provide domiciliary dental services for NHS patients?

We are a fully private dental practice and have no contract with the NHS. We do not provide NHS dental treatment.

    Are mobile dentist services expensive?

Our mobile dental service takes extra time with travel to and from the patient, as well as factoring in extra duties such as packaging and unpackaging the instruments and equipment. It takes many years to train someone to be suitable for work in a home setting, and dental nurses for mobile dental services need additional training and commitments. Finding dentists or dental nurses who can offer our patients a high level of in-home dental care has become extremely difficult.

Do you provide services to people with dementia?

Yes, we provide services to patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and fragility. However, it is of the utmost importance that you mention this to us clearly at the time of booking. Alzheimer's and dementia patients are treated differently, and we will guide you through their treatment stages. Alzheimer's and dementia patients’ dental treatments are based on the type and severity of their condition.

Do you provide and make dentures?

Yes, our mobile dental service provides a full denture service. We perform denture repairs, denture relining, and denture tooth additions. We can also take impressions for making new dentures. We provide all types of dentures, like fully acrylic dentures, cobalt-chrome dentures, flexible dentures, and partial or full dentures.

How much does your mobile dentist's denture service cost?

A mobile dentist's denture service cost depends on the number of visits to your address and whether there are any other dental issues that need to be addressed prior to denture work. A denture repair usually takes three visits to complete. A first visit for examination, a second visit to take an impression, and a third visit for the fitting of the denture. Making a new set of dentures takes between three and five visits. However, at the first visit following the examination, we will provide you with an exact cost estimate.
